Assistant Director, Development Research

Under the direction of the Director of Development Research, the Assistant Director is an integral member of the Philanthropy fundraising team, housed within the University Development unit. In this role, the incumbent performs duties in all areas of the Prospect Management and Research operations, supporting pipeline and portfolio development via a client based system. 

This includes the development of prospect portfolios and management of prospect moves through all stages of the pipeline for Development Officers (currently numbering 30) and fundraising executive leadership. Analysis and distribution of system generated reports and dashboard metrics further pipeline and portfolio development. 

An expansive set of resources is used to implement research and analytic strategies, primarily for major gift prospect identification and analysis, engagement, solicitation, and project management. Synthesized results are presented in written forms such as detailed prospectuses, biographies, or spreadsheet analyses. This specialized research creates opportunities for interaction among fundraisers, senior university administrators, and major donors and prospects, including corporate and foundation executives, government officials and public personalities. 

The ideal candidate is a curious, detail-oriented individual with analytical skills who enjoys working in a team environment and is comfortable with databases and manipulating data.
