Director of Development, Division of Social Sciences

We're hiring a Director of Development, Division of Social Sciences! This is a career, 100% time appointment eligible for full university benefits:

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and in close collaboration with the Dean of the Division of Social Sciences, the Director of Development serves in a lead role to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate a fundraising program to secure and increase philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations for the priorities of the division.

The Director will design and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward high-capacity individuals. This will include building engagement with these individuals, creating gift opportunities based on divisional priorities, formulating and coordinating fundraising strategies, and determining appropriate stewardship plans for major donors. The Director will manage a portfolio of 50-75 current and prospective major donors.

The Director will involve UC Santa Cruz Foundation trustees, Dean’s Council members, other high-level volunteers, and academic leaders to deepen donors’ and prospective donors’ interest and involvement in the Social Sciences. The Director currently supervises a Development Assistant.
